Any starting tips on how to beat Frank?

In few words: you can't.
If the player can beat frank, this would breaks too much quest of the game, so there is no option for player to do exactly that.
Nonetheless, you can convince derek and patrick to do that for you.

There is one quest, as ttant said, that lets you permanently disable him in that playthrough, but be aware that may cancel out some content that relies on him being awake.
