[0.9.2] Start Asheley revenge, then pause by pranking Ashley, not always possible to recover

Let me check if this is per design.

You can get into state that Ashley revenge is underway (Patrick interaction passed, and before starting the finish with Derek), and that you can also proceed with pranking Ashley (making her go to room).

This pauses revenge path. Which is fine.

One exit is giving back clothes without incident. Great, everything is working fine.

But in case of prank being done, only way to continue revenge are:

1) Finish redemption quest from Vickie
2) Tell you are sorry for untying the top

Option 1 may not be there, since you could have already gotten this quest before, or maybe even done Signs of Affection.
Option 2 may not be there if you were already sorry before for top, or have never done it, or maybe even secured the top, to make it impossible to do now.

Option 2 could be funnily enough unlocked after pranking, if you have not done it before, as long as you return the clothes.

So anyway, being nice to Ashley (secure the top, doing positive Vickie quest), and then pranking Ashkey gives no exit strategies.

Is it per design?

Additionally, giving key to Ashley after pranking changes her to "vengeance" mode, where she is extra mean to player.


This is not undoable, and stays even if you finish Redemtion quest, and then continue with revenge on Madison, leading to "schizophrenic" dialogue from Ashley.

Actually, option 2 does not exist in the game. I have just read the script without trying.

Telling sorry for top has Ashley scold you and officially says that revenge is on hold, so only Redemption quest makes it unpaused.

But there is a bug.
Option 2 triggers adding 0 points to PlanOnHold variable, essentially doing nothing.

I assume this was supposed to be PlanOnHold=1.

Anyway, with assumption that all bugs get fixed, there is asshole/friendly route with Ashley.

Gain enough trust to get her open about diary, to unlock revenge on Madison, with prank from Madison still being option (sometimes not case due to bugs).
Continue with revenge until you need Vickie phone number.
Do the prank on Ashley
Give the bathroom key to make her furious
Give back clothes
Untie the top, to get Vickie phone (instead of getting from Madison phone, like normal being)
Do redemption questline (hopefully with fix to remove furious state)
Continue with Ashley revenge on Madison and get happy ending with her


Whatever bugs get fixes, it should really be tested to make sure this is possible, because it is so hilarious (should give Steam achievement, if those are added, IMHO). As well as several less mean variations (like doing redemption without untying the phone and getting Vickie phone other way, or not giving bathroom key and giving clothes only).
