Re: [Complete Story] Gone Bad Party [0.19.4/0.20.1/0.20.2]

Hi Peter, I just started playing the game and using your story, it's now a must-have replacement for me on any playthough for the stock changes like simon says, so thanks much!

I was messing around with the CSC myself trying to learn it through slight modifications to your fantastic base - one thing I'm confused by: for the dance party you reference character values like "Slutty" or "PoseChoice", yet those values don't show up in either the character value lists or the overall story value lists.

Furthermore, if I expand Criteria Groups which contain a reference to these values, for example say Original Story -> Criteria Groups -->"MadisonPlayerDoWallSex1", first set, [value:Madison:PoseChoice:Equals:0], there's no option for PoseChoice in the dropdown box, then upon minimizing that criteria the value type changes to blank-even without selecting anything!

Am I missing something here like additional values can be added into the base via an external library? What's going on? (apologies if this is more of a CSC Unity question and off the direct topic of Gone Bad Party)

Re: [Complete Story] Gone Bad Party [0.19.4/0.20.1/0.20.2]

Ok, let me explain this.
When I made this story, I manually added all scripting directly to story/character files without the use of CSC.

The game itself, when loading the story, does not need the "declaration" of values for each character to work.

But CSC itself does need it in order for dropdown menus to populate correctly.

Thus, if you upload my story to CSC, any time you try to modify criteria or action that uses those values, that are not declared it will blank out, which is what you experienced.

You could fix this on your end, by manually adding missing values in CSC to the corresponding characters.

I was considered doing this myself, but the reason I did not do this since my original goal for this story is to limit edits to a small number of files (currently that is Original Story file and Vickie file), in order for me to be easier to upgrade the story any time there is new game release.

Because of that, I do not want to edit character files for other characters than Vickie in order to add missing value declarations, and because of that, I left it as is.

EDIT:
Still, I may be considering doing this for Player and Vickie values only (adding missing value declarations), to at least make it a bit easier for other creators to browse my story. But the problem will still remain for the values of other characters since I do not plan to edit their files (despite those characters now having new values used by the story).

Truth to be told, it would be easier if CSC itself would fix missing value declarations on import, but unfortunately, that is not the case.

Re: [Complete Story] Gone Bad Party [0.19.4/0.20.1/0.20.2]

Ok thanks for your reply, that makes perfect sense - and yeah, I had sifted through the files just in notepad+ considering manually editing them.

It'll be interesting to see what functionality today's update introduced that may overlap with your custom story, specificially with Vickie's endgame - I'm gonna go play it once I can figure out how to revert the new version from blocking my keybindings (like how is "Use" not rebindable now)
