Patrick's merlot disappears in the dining room even after picking it up

If Rachael fights Patrick in the dining room whilst he's holding the merlot, when it drops there's a chance it'll disappear and not appear in his hand when he exits the dining room. If you get someone to fight him, it'll reappear in his hand again and drop to the ground.

Can you give a bit more detail about this? You mean the dining room where Frank is, right? It's hard to tell if this is a bug, or just a need to suspend disbelief vs. certain mechanics ;)

Patrick will not enable the Merlot when picking it up if Leah or Frank can see him. So it is possible that he can pick up/mount the wine, walk off, and not re-enable it again until both Leah and Frank cannot see him (this includes any line of sight checks through windows). Like in this example, Pat got his merlot and then did not re-enable it until he walked up the stairs where Leah (kitchen) and Frank (dining room) couldn't see him:

But in this example it's important to note that his merlot DID remain visible when he was slapped, so it didn't impact my ability to pick it up, which is what really matters.

Yes, the dining room with Frank in it.

From what I remember when Rachael slapped Patrick in the room, the merlot dropped to the floor but when he picked it up again it didn't appear in his hand and didn't reappear when he exited the room. When he got punched again but outside, it reappeared and dropped to the ground and when he picked it up again it appeared in his hand once more.

Alright. I'd need confirmation that it did not reappear in his hand when he was out of line of sight of Frank AND Leah. A distance check would only fail if there was a non-glass surface between the player and NPC, or if they were 15 units or more away (roughly the distance from the right/outermost flamingo and the center of the hot tub).
