Thoughts on the Party

I like how this game so accurately portrays party movies from the late 90s and early 2000s. I especially like how Stephanie's story goes, as short as it is. It takes me back to an old Jeff Foxworthy bit about how single people throw the best parties, the ones where there's a good chance somebody's coming out of their clothes before the night's out. Most of the time, it's the woman that's dancing by herself way too early in the evening.

Player: It's only 7:15 and Stephanie's dancing by herself. That dress is coming off tonight. I guarantee it.

Granted, the party takes place in a house and not a dingy singles apartment like Foxworthy describes. Those were all the same. They had shag carpeting tramped down so bad by the front door that you couldn't rake it back up. They were furnished the same with:

- Mattress on the floor protected by a mountain of dirty clothes
- Milk crates for nightstands
- Lava lamp with a permanent glob in the bottom
- Stolen road sign on the wall
- Blankets for curtains
- Mystery stain on the carpet
- Budweiser mirror on the wall
- Rusted out Hibachi grill on the balcony
- Plant with no leaves on it
- Bike with no chain on it
- Spool in the den
- $9000 stereo (You're going hungry, but you got tunes)
- Beanbag chair with duct tape on it
Catch your magic moment
Do it right here and now
It means everything
