Why can't I seduce Derek into kissing me at the garage?

Hey there!
So I played Derek's walkthrough and I made it all the way to the garage with him. But when I selected "Yeah, you mean a lot to me too. In more ways than one."
But then this dialogue poped up:
I've searched everywhere but not any site had the same problem.

This is because you refused him during the roof scene so that romance meter dropped.
If you have a save game before the roof scene, reload it and try again.

Thank you so much! During the roof scene, he and I pissed together but I called him too cuddly so the bar went "cold shower". I clicked on the other option and it worked! We just had crazy wild sex in the laundry room
