I understand that much, I just mean that quite often after we get that, the next wave of Alpa and Beta waves aren't far behind, meaning we get to play with the things that are available in the next CSC potentially changing the path we want to take. I don't mean an alpha cs release for the alpha hp release, just a version before the next or full version if it's ready enough.
I like looking at other stories to see how others are using the possibilities, whatever the level of content. It can help solve problems or potentially just give inspiration, but I agree that if the author doesn't think there's enough, there's no obligation to share.
Testing is what holds me back a lot too. I've got so much I want to add, but I spend so long trying to get minor interactions to work robustly. Example: Vickie introduces you to several of the guests. If you follow right behind her, the dialogue triggers as soon as you reach the character. If you get distracted or explore a little first, the dialogue triggers when you are close enough to them. Trying to get this right without breaking has sent me round in circles with multiple values and takes a while.
Similarly, in part of mine you are able to convince a character to strip based on how inebriated they become. Each clothing part only shows up if the conditions are right (eg. bra can only be removed when the top is off) and a different reaction is played depending on the drunk meter. The start dialogue also changes when the character is ready to take the next item off. To make sure the correct dialogue is shown if they are drunker than needed for the previous step, I'm creating values, probably far too many, and I'm going round in circles figuring it out. Wasting my time on this is stopping me from putting in actual content.
What is really holding me back just now though is that I'm having an issue with the hottubhandjob which I can't seem to trigger since updating it to 0.8.8 (the character follows you, you sit down anywhere, and as soon as you take it out she starts the action. Just now everything but the action itself is working) and I don't want to work on anything else until I figure it out since it's integral to the start of my story...
It triggers fine in the original story, after that part of Vickie's quest, but not before for some reason.
