Why is there absolutely no info on how to run a custom story?

For general House Party discussion, gameplay questions, and feedback. Also where to ask questions about how to avoid Frank of the House "Fister", First of His Name.

Why is there absolutely no info on how to run a custom story?

Not on the main site, not on the steam forums, not on these forums. Only how to get started with the custom story creator. And there's the proof-of-concept installer. But nothing to tell you how to run the stories I've already downloaded. It would be fantastic to get some Steam Workshop integration to just click a button, and have a custom story install!

Let's go back the steps you use.

1. Download & install custom story :
Either use the unofficial installer: https://forum.eekllc.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1015 Just read the entire post, and ask question there.
Or do as it should be written on the installation part of each custom story :
* For windows:
Extract the zip/rar/7z to your "<Documents>\Eek\House Party\Mods\Stories" folder. If done correctly, you will get there "XXX" folder, and inside it .character and .story files.
.
* For mac and linux :
Same principle, just folder change depending of your OS.

Doing a bad CS installation will result by an empty house when playing the custom story.

2. Start the game.

3. On main menu, use the combobox to change the story you want to play.

There is a thread that touches on that here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/611790/d ... 344691646/

But we're soon going to add a much easier method of managing custom stories ;) Stay tuned!
