More girls and ladies? (for story writing)

For the purposes of writing new stories (rather than building on the Original story), a few new elements would open a wide world of possibilities. In particular, it would be nice to have a wider variety of girls. We have a good set of slim and medium body shapes already, but the world (and tastes) are wider than that.

Can I suggest adding some of the following?

• More ethnicities. Amy is great, but it would be good to have a black girl or two included. Derek was well executed, so we know you can do it.

• A girl or two with a heavier body shape. Not massively obese, but well padded.

• One or two mature women, e.g. in their thirties or forties. This would add masses of new story possibilities, such as mothers and aunts.

• One or two mature men. Same reason. Someone's father arriving home, or roaming around the house, could make for some good stories.

• An actual cat

• More household objects.

• How about adding another house next door? Not a vast expansion, just a little more room to script stories in. The current house gets a little claustrophobic and repetitive.

Feel free to comment with support for these or other suggestions. The point is to add more elements for storywriters to use on the platform rather than make the original story more complicated.

I doubt they will expand, Office Party will have bigger space. In older version there weren't Amy and Derek but also there wasn't the garden with pool at all. I guess final version of House Party will be crowded after the new characters.

There are at least 2 more characters coming in the future updates, we don't know any more than this. And yeah honestly I doubt they would create even more characters. Maybe if they introduced some sort of character maker where you can create your own characters and make a story with them, then it would work fine without them needing to introduce even more characters.

From story complexity, the more characters you add the more difficult is to create new updates, since you need to take into account all existing character content at that point.

And from a player pov, more items/characters to display (and move) means also more resources required (GPU / RAM / CPU).

would you not be able to just add extra characters into CSC itself not necessary into the main story as long as they are set-up with the diff animations a person could pick and choose what ones to add to their custom story. same as going to other places could you not have say a limo, you are going to take the party out on the town so you warp the characters you choose to the back of a limo have some stuff happen there, then warp to a dance club/bar these would not be in the same scene so you would not have as many assets being used at the same time.

There's nothing that says a story writer needs to include every available character. For performance, Eek could even impose a limit of how many are active at a time. The point is to have a toolbox with enough elements to enable a broader selection of stories. You don't use every tool for every job.

The characters we've announced are going to be the last that we add. We also have some moderately sized additions to stories for 1-2 existing characters planned after 0.13. We have to move towards finishing the game at this point, so characters and locales are generally off limits. Items, appearances, animations, etc. that add depth or mix things up without guaranteeing an increase in script or programmatical complexity will be "on the table" for some time, however.

Fair enough. I would hope some of these idea go into Office Party, where I hope we could expect a wider range of ages on characters anyway.
