I was thinking there should be a reaction level somewhere between emoting angrily and completely kicking my ass.
A single slap would be a good mid-level anger response. It could be an emote where they slap you a single time, without doing damage or entering combat mode. Rounding it off with that satisfying slap sound effect, it could be pretty amusing.

I also thought of a "Throw drink in face" option but maybe that idea is more for Office Party, considering you're done with new animations for House Party.

I think you could already do this in the game.

Of course, it would require making sure that combat is canceled by both player and other character after a single hit on the player.

Brittney and Vickie's side stories do have "one slap kill", as an option, so a slight modification on that would probably be what you need.
