Sorry for not being clear. Anytime I try to set a trigger based on dialogue, it only shows the default story dialogue. For example. Go into Amy's story file on a new story. Clear the story completely. Then set up a new dialogue "thanks for the beer". Then set up natty lite 1-6 to trigger that dialogue. If you do that, the drop-down shows the original story dialogue. This happens any time you try to reference dialogue for any option other than triggering other dialogue for that character. This also makes it where you can't build on the original story, because any new dialogue options you add simply won't show up in the drop-down. It's like the drop-down for those never update when you change, add, or remove dialogues. The problem gets weirder when you try to trigger another characters dialogue from the "dialogue close" option. It won't let me choose the character that I am picking the dialogue from, and it lists the original story dialogue. This problem effectively limits your number of dialogue options to the same amount that character had in the original story, and means you have to remember the number of the one you want to trigger. I might can add screenshots later

Never mind. I trawled the forum and found the fix, tho it is a little complicated. I think Erasmus posted it in another thread. It isn't exactly the same, but it worked. You have to open the hierarchy and click each character, then drag their story into the character story box. Took about ten minutes, but now everything seems to be working. It just doesn't update when you make changes, so you have to redo the hierarchy thing anytime you want to update the dialogue options available

[quote]This came up in our Discord and was seemingly resolved:

Anybody who's seeing that red ERROR and blank spaces where corresponding dialogue/quests should be, you need to drag each of those character stories (DerekStory, FrankStory, etc) into their proper spots within the StoryCreator -Load Me First hierarchy.

On the left side of the screen in the CSC, you should see "Game Manager" and things like "Content" and "Characters" below that. Click the drop-down arrow next to "Characters" to see each of the relevant HP characters. Clicking "Ashley" for example, you should see a new page open on the right. One of the fields on this newly opened page is called "Character Story" and you should notice they all say "None (Character Story)". There's your problem, because the CSC has no stories to pull the dialogue/quest from. So drag in either the original character stories or the ones that you've made into that field for each of the characters you're building a story for. It will remedy any problem with the proper story stuff not showing up.

That does seem like a bit of a complicated fix. Let us know if this does not feel improved in the next CSC release. This should be ready soon as we've got a tech-update pending within the next week or so before we move onto 0.13.0.

I'll keep an eye out for it. I've noticed that when you make a dialogue change, it seems that the story reverts to the original, though the dialogue stays what it was. It's like there's something over riding that setting. It's weird
