Need a way to drop objects we've picked up...

Hello,
Is there a way to drop objects we've picked up and either don't want or no longer need?
Need to lighten my inventory a bit, for a custom story I'm playing.

I've a silly idea, and i'm not sure this will work.

What if you add a custom "use with" action from the item you want to drop with a completely useless ofther item, such as the microwave.
Doing so, there might be a way to "consume" the unwanted item :mrgreen:

Doesn't work, tried it. Gives me a dialogue box saying: "can't do that".

I'm used to the Original Story, where I start by rounding up all of the items I will need throughout the story. But when I played 'Way Sluttier Party' the past few days, I don't need most of the items I picked up. Was looking for a quick way to drop items.

I think, you misunderstand me.
You (or the author of the custom story) have to edit the sory to add such interaction so the player can "drop" unwanted items.

BUT..

We still need a way to remove unwanted and unneeded items from our inventory if for no other reason than to shorten the time it takes to find what we DO need for a specific interaction. I am referring to the Original Story game!!

It would also be handy when an error in console commands related to inventory in the game's reaction to that command puts the wrong item into player inventory to complete the command execution. IE: Second input of Natty Lite gets desk drawerwhich comes up in frame in front of you even if your NOT viewing your inventory!!

Being able to delete/drop/remove such items would remove this interference. I've even had it happen with Patrick's Merlot bottle when I have had a lot of inventory.
At least with it I can cycle my inventory and while it is OFF screen exit inventory and immediately click on her to open action disc and choose GIVE to give it to her.

Developers!! PLEASE ADD A WAY TO REMOVE UNNEEDED AND WRONG ITEMS FROM PLAYER'S INVENTORY IN THE NEXT UPDATE!!!!

You should be able to do this via console commands for now, but it's definitely one of the more complicated commands. I believe you have to use something like: item [item] itemfunction Discard(). Might just be Discard...don't remember if I coded the syntax to require the parenthesis, or even any parameters.

There should also be one other 'player' or 'item' based command that will effectively do this, based on past console functionality testing. If you don't figure it out let me know and I can check it out.

But otherwise yeah, a simple "drop" option would be a good feature. I will add it to JIRA for future implementation.

Just add item interaction with some trashbin around the house :mrgreen:

Actually I think that trash bin idea may be the easiest way to deal with this and
could be setup to complete with the action disc "Use With" command for ANY
item we find we don't need OR ended up with due to an error with a console
command for us cheaters.. :lol:

Say... One of those man sized "mini" trash dumpsters setup in the garage like
it would be taken out to the curb every week on trash pickup day...

Just remember to setup the dumpster so WE CANNOT TAKE IT!!! OR MOVE IT!!!
I can only imagine the mess it would make trying to get IT out of our inventory!
