Hello, So I just tried 0.9.3. & Ugh! Everyone is SO dark! I had to turn off Real Time Lights & Shadows
just to see people's faces!

The game needs SLIDERS for BRIGHTNESS, SATURATION & CONTRAST.

Every gamer has a different TV/monitor, different PC specs SO instead of trying to find some happy medium,
why not just add sliders so each individual can set their own visuals.

Mods like IMAGINATOR & DYNAVISION on Fallout are great examples!

As a workaround, like in any other game, just install the real GPU driver and not the one microsoft send you.
Depending on the manufacturer, you will get a special tool (nview for nvidia, ccc for amd/ati) which generally provide such feature.

I understand this is a pretty common feature in PC games nowadays, so we can certainly look into it. That being said...I assume you mean characters were dark outside? They should not have been dark, for instance, in the kitchen.
